The Complete Idiot's Guide to Stock Car Racing gives you the insider's guide to this exciting sport, from the first organized races in the late 1940s to the super-speedway action of today. In addition, it gives background on everything from the rock star-like drivers of the sport, to the fabulous 700-horsepower engines that run cars, to what the crews do and why their skills are as valuable as those of the driver.
John Cerbone has been a part of racing for the past 20 years. His vast and diverse knowledge of building cars and engines has produced many wins in different forms of racing, including Stock Car, Drag Racing, and Road Racing.
Peter Monte has been part of the NASCAR Busch North Series tour for several years. He began as a backyard mechanic, became involved in drag racing, and in 1994 switched to stock car racing. In 1997 he became team manager for JCM Racing.
