About this Item
A smart collection of poems from Fireside poet John Greenleaf Whittier. Cambridge edition. Whittier was strongly influenced by the Scottish poet Robert Burns. Highly regarded in his lifetime and for a period thereafter, he is now remembered for his poem Snow-Bound, and the words of the hymn Dear Lord and Father of Mankind, from his poem The Brewing of Soma, sung to music by Hubert Parry. In a half-calf binding with marbled boards. Externally smart, with just some light rubbing and some sunning to the front board. Some spotting to the rear board. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and mainly clean, with just the odd spot. Very Good Indeed. Seller Inventory # LTH15-C-14
