Three volumes. First two volumes printed 1781, the third volume in 1782. Stout 8vos. Vol. I, viii, 740, followed by indices. Vol. II, (xii), 698, followed by indices. Vol. III, (xi), 776, followed by indices. Rebound in tan buckram with original morocco spine labels laid down. Original pastedowns laid down, with old repair to title page in Vol. I, where it has been reattached to the rebinder's stub. Two previous owner signatures, that of James Watt, dated 1794, and John H. Roulow, Ronlow or Roulou, "VA," dated 1829, on the front free-endpaper of Vol. II.Age-toning to endpapers, interior text block quite fresh and sound. Old dust soiling to top edges. Ex libris with two discreet stamps on per volume: on the spine, that of the DC Bar Association; on the front free endpaper, a stamp that reads, "Surplus Library of Congress Duplicate." Atkyns is notable for his laborious indexing of case law, allowing barristers the ability to search precedent. Includes a broad overview of quotidian English life of the late 18th C., but also great detail regarding specific cases and individuals, including Thomas-Chaloner Bisse-Challoner, Thomas Aynscombe, et al. Orders from residents of Washington State subject to 10.1% sales tax.
All books are packed and shipped within 24 hours of receipt of order. Every book is professionally packaged in a heavy cardboard box and shipped via US Postal Service, fully insured. Shipping rates are $3.50 per book; an additional $1 for every book thereafter. Sets and oversized volumes might require additional postage – indication of such will be noted in the book description. Those orders ship at cost, as do international orders, for which shipping will be determined per sale. Other shipping modes are available per arrangement. Institutions will be billed per requirements.
