Dover reprint, first published in 1970, presents unabridged duplication of the Leipzig 1881-2 Serie 14 printed scores long considered the definitive instrumentation for Mozart's string quartets. Although the book boasts of its heartiness, with pages sewn rather than glued for use on music stands and bindings intended to be laid open flat, the publishers didn't guard against sun-bleached spines or shelfworn rubbings upon cover: minimal defects, still, for such a well-preserved resource. Very good to near fine condition. See photos.

Noteheads in this edition have been reproduced in a size large enough to be read easily from a music stand or the keyboard, and margins and spaces between staves are conveniently wide to permit written notes, harmonic analysis, fingerings, and running measure numbers. This edition is practical for study, reference, enjoyment — virtually any use.
