The Complete Typographer starts by tracing the evolution of the printed word, from Gutenberg and the advent of movable type through to the new digital typography of the 21st century. It then moves on to the actual business of working with type, introducing the terminology of typeface design, the fundamentals of page layout, and aspects of display typography and new media typography.
