About the Author
A former Walt Disney World concierge supervisor, Julie Neal is the author of The Complete Walt Disney World and The Complete Universal Orlando series of travel guides. As such she's spent more than 2,500 days at Disney World (not counting her days at work) and a few hundred at Universal.
A roller coaster freak and a wildlife enthusiast, she lists Expedition Everest and the Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail as her favorite Disney attractions. Her passions outside the world of theme parks include animal rights, reading and old movies. Julie's husband Mike designed the book and took most of the photos for it. As it's been since he first rode it in high school, his favorite Disney attraction is Space Mountain, from the front seat. Outside of work his interests include cheeses (seriously!), filmmaking and palm trees.
Julie and Mike live in Orlando with their Divemaster daughter Micaela, who helps out in the family business when she's not going to school at Florida State. Her favorite Disney ride: Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.
For years the Neals have shared their home with the most important members of their family, their dogs. Bear was a farmer, a chocolate lab who actually cultivated fields of mushrooms in his neighborhood, checking on them nightly until they were just right to gulp. Next was the world's most cuddly 85-pound rescue dog, Oliver. As diverse in his lineage as he was in his lizard tracking, Ollie left his forever home in 2015, heading off to that great lizard hunting ground in the sky.
