She attended Barnard College and Columbia University before working as a book club editor for a major children's publisher. Over the past 15 years, Beth has created a wide range of materials, from idea books for preschool teachers to research activities for middle schoolers. She lives in Connecticut with her husband and two daughters.

Ellen Sussman is a freelance educational writer who created her first teaching idea in fourth grade. After teaching elementary school in New York City and Los Angeles, Ellen enjoys developing, writing and editing creative educational materials while being a correspondent for a local newspaper in Vermont.
