Complete in ten octavo volumes (8.25" x 5.75"), variously paginated, illustrated throughout. Publisher's maroon pebbled roan & marbled paper over boards, the spines elaborately lettered & decorated in gilt. Top edges gilt. Printed on quality paper. Larger sized volumes than many sets from this era. Condition: Bindings with extremity chipping: mostly small losses at spine extremities, volume one with chip affecting lettering, volumes three & four with brief staining toward the base of the spines, edges & corners rubbed, otherwise a good & still an excellent set. Without the chips I would sell at $1500. Please see photos. The first 5 volumes comprise Tales, volume 6, Poems, volume 7 through 9, Criticisms, & volume 10, Miscellany.
