A Leather-stocking limited edition set number 917 out of 1000.With aquatint frontispieces and headpieces and tailpieces.This thirty two volume complete set features the complete works by American writer James Fenimore Cooper. Copper was a prolific writer who primarily wrote historical romances depicting indigenous and colonial characters from the 17th and 19th centuries. This collection includes the 'Leatherstocking' tales he is most known for, such as 'The Deerslayer' and the 'Pathfinder'. In the original publisher's cloth. Externally, very good indeed with bumping resulting in light rubbing to the extremities and the odd minor mark to the boards and spines. Very light minimal offsetting to the end papers of 'The Prairie', 'Red Rover', 'Monikins' , 'The Sea Lions'. 'Homeward Bound', 'Home as Found', 'Headsman' and 'The Heidenmauer' and the odd spot to 'Pathfinder', 'Mercedes of Castle' and 'Two Admirals'. Front hinge starting with chords showing but firm to 'Wing and Wing'. Internally firmly bound with bright and generally clean pages with the odd spot, heavier to 'Redskins', 'Oak Openings', 'The Bravo', 'Crater', 'Chainbearer', 'Afloat and Ashore', 'The Sea Lion', 'Jack Tier', 'Lionel Lincoln', 'Miles Wallingford' and 'The Heidenmauer'. Chipping to the extremities to the last page of 'The Crater'. Very Good Indeed. …
