Stunning binding of full panelled calf, by Riviere & Son (signed on the front endleaf with an ink pallet); five raised spine bands; compartments ruled, lettered and fully decorated in gilt; morocco title-plate in second compartment; beautiful inlay and gilt ruled and tooled borders to boards with gilt floral-esque corner-pieces; board edges with gilt ruled diagonal patterns; inner gilt dentelles; all page edges gilt; marbled endpapers; half-title present; portrait frontispiece with tissue guard; indexes and glossary to rear. Condition: VERY GOOD. A few light scratches and abrasions to rear board, some foxing to endpapers, and a gift inscription to front endpaper, otherwise a fine example.
