Volume 10, glossary. Half-morocco leather binding with marbled boards to match green and brown marbled endpapers. Gilt lettering and decoration on spine. Hinges are weak, partially loose at rear board. Leather is cracked at spine edges and hinges. Corners slightly exposed. Frontispiece depicting William Shakespeare from the painting by N. Hilliard, protected by tissue. Page fore-edges are deckled, top-edges are gilded. Many pages uncut. This 10th volume of a then-volume set is Alexander Dyce's (1798-1869) glossary of terms used in Shakespeare's works. Dyce was a Scottish writer and scholar, known for his books on Shakespeare. Hardcover, good condition. 519 pages, octavo.
