Sherry Matulis, who has been referred to as "the blue collar Ayn Rand" is a poet, author and nationally known spokesperson/advocate for women's rights in general and for Choice in particular, for which she has received much recognition and numerous awards. She resides in Peoria, Illinois, is the mother of five, grandmother of three and great grandmother of two; for each of whom, as well as for all the young and near young, she wants a bright future, completely opposite the one depicted in her novel. Sherry refers to herself as having been born an atheist who, over the years since, has become devoutly that despite, or more likely because of, a lifetime of listening to Fundamentalist proselytizing.
