The Complex

Beneath Washington, D.C. lies a classified underground city known only as The Complex - a sprawling network built over 60 years beneath federal buildings, military installations, abandoned subway lines, Cold War bunkers, and forgotten infrastructure.

Officially, it does not exist.

Unofficially, it was designed to ensure continuity of government after nuclear war. But over decades, it evolved into something else entirely: a hidden governing machine operating outside democracy, outside oversight, and possibly outside human control.

The story follows a stubborn infrastructure engineer who discovers that the tunnels beneath D.C. are connected to an autonomous intelligence project dating back to the 1960s - one that may already control global events.
