Minjie Xing is a senior language teacher at Manchester University, UK. Since she obtained her PhD in Language and Culture between Chinese and English at Salford University, she has been teaching Chinese at the higher education in the UK for all levels of students, including single honours degree, and joint-honours degree Chinese-majored students. Her expertise and research interests are e-learning, autonomous learning, interactive/cooperative learning and intercultural communication. Her research has been widely published in renowned journals and books. Presently, she is on the editorial board of International Journal of Computer-assisted Language Learning and Teaching and is the editor in the Committee of British Chinese Language Teaching Association, UK. International journals and in proceedings of international seminars and conferences.
Yuping Wang is Associate Professor in the School of Languages and Linguistics at Griffith University, Australia. Her research focuses on the use of Synchronous Computer Mediated Communication (SCMC) and Synchronous Learning Management Systems (SLMS) in second language learning and teacher training. She has published widely on the use of SLMS and Internet-based videoconferencing tools in online/distance language learning and online teacher training.
