Mark Reaney is a scenographer and retired professor in the Scenography Program within the University of Kansas’ Department of Theatre and Dance, where he taught classes in computer-aided design for over 25 years. He pioneered the use of CGI in scenography and virtual reality as a scenic medium and directed the Institute for the Exploration of Virtual Realities (i.e. VR). Beginning in 1988, he has written extensively on the subject and spoken at venues across the U.S. and Europe. Current projects include new VR recreations of historic theatres. Long afflicted with MS, Mark is always exploring ways in which digital tech can aid scenographers with disabilities. Documentation of the work in CGI/VR/Theatre projects, productions, and publications can be found at www.ievr.org.
