About the Author: Joyce J. Fitzpatrick, PhD, MBA, RN, FAAN, is the Elizabeth Brooks Ford Professor of Nursing, Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, where she was Dean from 1982 through 1997. She has received numerous honors and awards including the "American Journal of Nursing "Book of the Year Award 18 times. Dr. Fitzpatrick is widely published in nursing and health care literature, is senior editor for Springer's revived "Nursing Leadership and Management Series "and just stepped down as senior editor for Springer's "Annual Review of Nursing Research Series." Her most recent Springer books are "The Doctor of Nursing Practice and Clinical Nurse Leader: Essentials of Program Development and Implementation for Clinical Practice; 201 Careers in Nursing; Encyclopedia of Nursing Research 3e, " and "Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing: An Interpersonal Approach (with Jones & Rogers). "
