A program for a performance of Lucia Dlugoszewski s new chamber music compositions, held "at the home of Sima Leake" and which was "to be filmed by Ed Emshwiller." Born in Detroit, the composer, writer, choreographer, and musician Lucia Dlugoszewski studied music under Agelageth Morrison before moving to New York in 1950, when she was 25. There she fell in with the experimental music scene, studying Edgard Varèse and John Cage. Her avant-garde compositions often utilized her own invented instruments, most notably the "timbre piano," a response to Cage s "prepared piano." The composer of over one hundred works, this program was possibly for an early performance of her Lords of Persia, prior to it being given a title. Offset. One sheet of laid paper, printed verso only. 11 x 8 1/2 in. Very good; old horizontal fold, browned at margins, tiny closed tear at left outer margin.
