Folio, contemporary boards with morocco lettered in gilt; preliminaries reinforced, foxing to several pages, title page with stained lower corner not affecting any text. First edition, large paper, wide-margined copy, with 87 pages of text and 19 engravings and five stunning colored plates. From the library of Daniel Webster, with the venerable statesman's distinct lion-headed bookplate on the pastedown, along with bookplates of several prominent Drexel family members. A significant work with a most distinguished provenance.
