8vo. Burgundy cloth with gilt lettering. 777pp. Very good. Mild edgewear, mainly at head of spine, with spine gilt rubbed. Tight, clean and nice copy of this biographical dictionary with an interesting twist: Notes the publishers, "The authors. believe that out of the thousands of mere names which Time has uncovered it is really necessary to be thoroughly familiar with the lives of only 500 great men and women of the present and past. They have tried to see how many could be left out instead of trying to to see how many they could include.".
