Concise College Physics, Vol. 1

The book is in two volumes. Volume I deals with the foundation of mechanics and the building blocks of the physical world. Starting with a treatment of the basic principles of units measurements and physical quantities it covers a wide spectrum of subjects ranging from linear kinematics and dynamics planar and angular motions oscillatory motions to studies of energy. Properties of materials are covered more from a practical rather than a theoretical perspective. The volume ends with the subject of heat and thermodynamics. This begins with the measurement of temperature and covers the behavior of materials when heated graduating to thermodynamics. Written in a simple language within the comprehension of an average student these books are useful textbooks for undergraduate students in technical and vocational institutions. They should also be useful for those preparing for courses in surveying architecture forestry chemical technology medicine etc. where physics is required to be studied
