Here is a revised one-volume abridgement (the first abridged edition appeared in 1981) of the Dictionary of Scientific Biography and its two supplements. It includes all the scientists covered in the parent volumes and adds 350 illustrations. Entry length, however, is reduced by about 90 percent. The scientists who are covered died before 1981. REVWR
