About this Item

Crisp, clean pages except for a prior owner's name at the front free endpaper, some toning around the edges, and modest foxing at endpapers and half-title; binding relaxed, but square and secure; full cloth cover is turned inward slightly at the free corners, faded and bearing a raised wrinkle along the spine, with some dimming of the gilt titles particularly near the heel, and shows spots of wear at corners and spine heel and small tears in the fabric around the head with minimal fraying; overall a sturdy volume with another century's life left in the old hinges yet. [xvi] + [664] + 8pp. publisher's catalogue. A revised and corrected version of the 1901 edition, itself so altered from prior versions that this can be understood as a "New and Revised Fifth Edition". Bookseller Inventory # 067505
