Dr. Byrne is internationally recognized for his work on the cellular and molecular mechanisms of learning. He has also contributed substantially to graduate and medical education, both locally and nationally. For example, he has authored or edited 15 books including three editions of his textbook From Molecules to Networks: An Introduction to Cellular and Molecular Neuroscience and two editions as Editor-In-Chief of the four-volume Learning and Memory: A Comprehensive Reference, both published by Academic Press.
