About the Author

This book neatly combines Lura Dymond's interests in history and writing. She has a bachelor's degree in history, graduating with honors and a Phi Beta Kappa membership, and a master's degree in journalism, both from the University of California, Los Angeles. Dymond has worked as a writer and editor for more than 25 years, and for the past 12 as a business owner. She has been a staff writer for Westways magazine, the public relations director of San Gorgonio Girl Scout Council, a book editor and ghostwriter, and an editor for the University of California, Berkeley Extension program and numerous other clients. Dymond has served on the Concord Parks and Recreation Commission and is president of the Friends of Concord Parks, Recreation and Open Space. She served on the board of directors and as newsletter editor for the Concord Historical Society. In addition, Dymond edits the newsletter of the League of Women Voters of Diablo Valley and writes contemporary fantasy in her spare time. She lives in Concoerd with her husband, Tony, and they have a daugther, Melissa.
