Confident in Conviction: Foundations for the Preacher (Paperback or Softback)

One of the foundational convictions for preachers is that the living God of the Bible is a talking God. It can be easy to take this conviction for granted, but the Bible affirms at least 870 times that God speaks, and this is a truth that changes everything for preachers. It should serve as an encouragement and as a reminder that the power of preaching does not come from us, but through us, as messengers of the one true and living God.

In this timely book, experienced and passionate preachers from around the world unpack the deep truths of Scripture. Exploring a range of biblical convictions about Christ, God's character, Scripture, the work of the Spirit, humanity, and the act of preaching itself, they provide short and accessible essays full of depth and conviction. As with learning any trade, there is often a rush to learn how to do it, but this book serves as a reminder that asking why is critical. Sermons are not just shaped by technique and outlines, but by the certainties that have taken root in those delivering them. It is not just about preaching, but also about the preachers. When these foundational truths are deeply known and understood, we are equipped to faithfully expound and proclaim God's word, leading the lost to Christ and transforming believers to Christlikeness.
