Confronting Genocide is the first collection of essays by recognized scholars primarily in the field of religious studies to address this timely topic. In addition to theoretical thinking about both religion and genocide and the relationship between the two, these authors look at the tragedies of the Holocaust, the Armenian Genocide, Rwanda, Bosnia, and the Sudan from their own unique vantage point.

Paul R. Bartrop, PhD, is Professor Emeritus of History at Florida Gulf Coast University, USA and Principal Fellow in History at the University of Melbourne, Australia. He is the author, co-author, and editor of 36 books, including The Routledge History of the First World War (2024), The Routledge History of the Second World War (2022), and (most recently) Flight and Rescue from Norway during the Holocaust (2026).

Mohammad Omar Farooq is an Associate Professor at the Department of Economics and Finance at the College of Business Administration, University of Bahrain.

Dr Paul Mojzes is Chair of the Religious Studies and Humanities Department at Rosemont College, Pennsylvania, USA.
He is a native of Yugoslavia, educated at Belgrade University, Florida Southern College, and Boston University. He is the co-editor of the Journal of Ecumenical Studies and the editor of Occasional Papers on Religion in Eastern Europe. He is the author of Christian-Marxist Dialogue in Eastern Europe and editor of Varieties of Christian-Marxist Dialogue as well as the writer of numerous articles. He is a member of the United Methodist Church.

PAUL MOJZES is Professor of Religious Studies at Rosemont College, Rosemont, Pennsylvania.

Steven Leonard Jacobs is Emeritus Aaron Aronov Endowed Chair of Judaic Studies at the University of Alabama, USA, and has written extensively on Biblical Studies, translation and interpretation, Jewish-Christian Relations; and Holocaust and Genocide Studies.

Steven Leonard Jacobs is professor of religious studies and holds the Aaron Aronov Endowed Chair of Judaic Studies in the department of religious studies at the University of Alabama.
