Laura Giosh-Markov has been in international education for more than 30 years, first as a teacher of French, music, and theater, and later as a school counselor. Social and emotional themes became an integral part of her teaching. As a transition counselor, she helped parents and students with transition strategies to support their arrivals and departures. She initiated a program for host country students and families to support their transition when joining an international school community-so different from their local culture. Laura leads Positive Discipline parent and teacher workshops and offers consulting services. She is also a certified music therapist in Bulgaria, using the expressive arts to help clients discover their inner resources for personal growth and healing. She has composed several school songs which inspire and affirm the school identity and students' experiences while attending those institutions.
