About the Author
Jane Harrison has more years of experience than she sometimes likes to admit, and most of those have been in the classroom. It was the pursuit of materials to improve the learning climate of her own classroom that led her to begin to implement some of the lessons that you ll see in this curriculum. The changes that she saw in the students, in herself, and in her relationship to the students, are what led her to begin her work with Educators for Social Responsibility. Over the last 10 years, she as worked both nationally and internationally with schools, providing training for students, school staffs and parents and has worked with students from pre-kindergarten through high school, in rural, suburban and inner-city settings. She owes a great deal of gratitude to her own children, who gave her the opportunity to continually improve and refine her own conflict resolution skills, and who now provide her with constant love and support.
