About the Author
An art quilter for more than twenty years, Heidi Edwards Dunn teaches quilters how to choose great fabrics for their quilts, so that they can make their quilts their own.
Her own quilts have been displayed at art and quilt exhibits in New Hampshire and elsewhere, including at AQSWeek, Daytona Beach. As a juried member of the League of NH Craftsmen, the oldest juried fine craft organization in the nation, Heidi has exhibited her work at a dozen Annual Craftsmen's Fairs. She is a grant recipient of the NH State Council on the Arts.
Heidi explores dramatic relationships between color and light in her original designs, and her signature use of color, texture, and pattern infuses her work. Her wall hangings are mostly structural and geometrically based works, including untraditional iterations of traditional quilt blocks.
Her passion for art and craft led to her career working with a variety of non-profit organizations that serve nationally-known playwrights, performing artists, master furniture makers and juried craftspeople. She currently is the education and communications director at the NH Small Business Development Center.
Choosing fabrics is Heidi's favorite part of quilting, and she is so excited to bring you her first book, Conquering Color & Fabric and The Dynamic Quilting Color & Fabric Plan(TM). Find online courses and resources such as videos and blog articles about color and fabric at dynamicquilting.com. Heidi and her husband, Tom, live in Henniker, New Hampshire, where they raised their four now twenty-something+ children.
