Reviews
This attractive book with numerous color photos, drawings, and diagrams gives beginners helpful advice from a British garden writer. The book offers authoritative but brief information on most garden activities and plant groups such as trees and shrubs. It provides little cultural information except concerning some fruits and vegetables. Suitable for general information; otherwise, consider the "Time-Life Encyclopedia of Gardening," "Taylor's Guides to Gardening," or the series from HP Books for detailed, useful advice on most aspects of gardening including cultural information for beginners.Dale Luchsinger, Athens Area Technical Inst.
