Harwell #173 "Is a learned defense of what the Civil War had proven indefensible." Howes #938 "Most elaborate and best argument for the constitutional validity of the doctrine of state sovereignty and the right of secession". Inner hinges a little cracked, but holding firm. Small white spot on the rear board to volume 1. Minor rubbing to the headbands. Internally clean.
