Construction: From Creating Early Shelters to Building a Sustainable Future (Engineering Evolutions)

Today, engineers are creating ever-evolving technology to help us build not just bigger, but better.

This book explores the engineering evolution in construction, from past to present, and the potential engineering transformations of the future. It uncovers how great engineering minds through the ages have invented technology to help us build the structures we need and desire, from simple homes through magnificent pyramids and towering skyscrapers.

Explore the story of construction from earliest shelters through modern sustainable building and from mud and stone through timber and steel. The evolution in construction engineering at each stage in human history reveals how modern engineering has often been inspired by past discoveries.

The book concludes by showing readers the many exciting careers available in construction engineering, and how they can join its evolution to become the engineering greats of the future.
