See photos for condition details. Hardcover, stamped blue cloth boards with gilt logo on front. Exterior shows scuffing and soiling and edges are darkened. Spine is worn at edges with a small piece in the upper left corner missing. Internal binding is overall good and text pages are secure, no hinge issues except for a thin crack starting at the front board. Pages are toned due to age and there is some scattered foxing and spotting present. The book has numerous foldout diagrams in the one at page 28 was not folded correctly, so has a few extra creases in the corner is worn. The most interesting part of this book was the original owners: on the front pastedown is written 55th Regiment Pennsylvania Volunteers. It makes one wonder if this book was used to study military fortifications for their battles in the Civil War, as the foldout with the extra wear increases was for profiles and plans of the revetments and counterforts. No other writing or notes found in the book other than what is written on the front pastedown.
