About this title

Synopsis

This comprehensive text surveys the theoretical underpinnings of modern management thought and research. Through a variety of real-world examples from small, medium, and large companies, readers are shown how those ideas are used by practicing managers. The organization of this text follows the mainstream functional approach of planning, organizing, leading, and controlling with a slight shift of the functional paradigm. The text is written to compete directly at the university-level market in terms of length, level of presentation, and breadth of coverage.
