Contextually Competent Applied Practice Across Sport, Exercise, and Performance Domains (Global Perspectives on Sport, Exercise, and Performance Psychology)

This edited collection offers global perspectives on contextually competent applied service delivery within the field of sport, exercise, and performance psychology (SEPP).

Professionals from around the globe join together to share their perspectives and experiences in SEPP, with each chapter offering insight across three different areas within a specific sport, exercise, or performance domain. This book begins with physical activity domains, sharing perspectives on working with athletes―including those with hidden and physical disabilities―in youth sport, with coaches, and with exercisers, including elderly exercisers. It then goes on to look at other performance domains, providing insights into working in esport, with military and tactical professionals, within business contexts, with performing artists, and in the healthcare sector. Brought together, the authors offer a diverse perspective on what it means to provide competent service delivery across a range of settings that a SEPP practitioner might work within.

Global in scope and offering a comprehensive overview of service delivery within SEPP, this is a valuable resource for graduate students seeking to understand the areas within which they could work, early career professionals starting out, and practitioners at any career stage looking to continue their professional development.
