Continuity

Some deaths announce themselves. Others arrive already explained.

When Margaret Whitmore Hale is found dead in her meticulously ordered home, there is no sign of violence, no forced entry, and no reason to ask questions. The scene is calm. Complete. Too complete. But Lisa Gibbs has never trusted a tidy scene - and she isn't about to start now.

Lisa is not like other investigators. Living with lupus taught her the world doesn't slow down for anyone, so she doesn't slow down either. Frank to a fault, slow to trust, and usually right, she follows a string of deaths that look natural, isolated, and politely forgettable - and starts to see the pattern underneath. These aren't tragedies. They're corrections. Someone is revising history quietly and carefully, and the archive they've built is designed to make sure no one ever notices.

But the deeper Lisa digs, the more personal the cost becomes. Her own body is imposing limits that mirror the case itself: less speed, less room for error, no space for improvisation. And the people who noticed before her - Margaret, and her daughter Caroline, who vanished for eleven days and was never the same - stand as warnings of what happens to witnesses who refuse to disappear.

Continuity is the first book in the Lisa Gibbs series: a twisty, character-driven thriller about power that survives by rewriting its own past, and the woman stubborn enough to read what was erased.

Nothing in this book ends cleanly.
That is the point.
