Contrapuntos XI: Poetics of Resistance

Contrapuntos XI: Poetics of Resistance & Reconciliation Narratives is the latest issue of our bilingual, independent literary journal that amplifies voices writing against the current. This edition offers a dynamic selection of poetry and fiction that explores language as a tool of cultural resistance and personal transformation.

The Poetics of Resistance section brings together poets who draw from the legacies of Jorge Luis Borges, Federico García Lorca, and Enriqueta Ochoa, using their inspiration to voice contemporary struggles and affirm language diversity. These poems are not only artistic expressions but political acts-each verse resisting invisibility and silence.

The Reconciliation Narratives section presents short fiction that traverses themes of migration, identity, memory, and the complexities of belonging. Written predominantly in English with bilingual and hybrid elements, the stories reflect diverse experiences and literary styles.

Together, these works form a literary dialogue that bridges borders, languages, and generations. They invite readers to engage with the tensions of the present and reflect on the ways literature can heal, resist, and transform.

Contrapuntos XI continues our mission of promoting Latinx, Latin American, and multilingual voices, providing a platform where diverse narratives thrive. Whether you seek poetic defiance or intimate storytelling, this issue offers a vital perspective on literature's role in resisting cultural erasure.
