20 x 13 cm. xvi 300pp [8] (ads). Bound into brown cloth with gilt spine lettering and black stamped cover design. 38 in-text woodcut illustrations. Stated second (American) edition, originally done in London in 1862. Minor rubbing to head and tail of spine. Previous owner's name on front free endpaper. There is foxing to the 2nd and 2nd from last leaf. Very nice copy overall. Reference: Freeman F804.
