About the Author

Anthea Lawrence (KCAI) trained as a youth leader, professional child care worker and as a social worker specialising in social group work, family therapy and child care. She has had an interest in Golden Retrievers for over 50 yrs. and has owned, bred, competed with and worked Goldens for over 20 years. She has been involved as a gun dog training instructor since 1989 and now runs classes at all levels, for any variety gundog in Worcestershire. She and her dogs work on shoots, picking up, during the winter months. In November 2005 she gained accreditation by the Kennel Club as a gundog training instructor and was one of the first instructors in the country, to gain this new qualification. Her first book was published in 2005 by Trafford, available from www.trafford.com/05-0376 and it is entitled Respect and Leadership in dog training & related articles. Her second book, a basic training manual, was published in 2006 by Trafford and is entitled Taking Control. The How & Why of Basic Gundog Training.
