Conversations with Pragmatism: A Multi-Disciplinary Study (Studies in Pragmatism and Values, 129)

This book represents the reflections of scholars coming from varied disciplinary backgrounds who have found a conversation partner in pragmatism. The “conversations” recorded here demonstrate pragmatism’s versatility and contemporary relevance. Whether it be rhetoric, literature, philosophy, religion, or social psychology, pragmatism provides the contributors fruitful insights into and methods of examining both practical and theoretical issues.

"To the editors's credit, they produced a volume that applies pragmatism (and doesn't just talk about it). By compiling essays across several disciplines, this is a nice statement to philosophers in particular to be less academically insulated and isolated, even pragmatist philosophers. A virtue of the book, then, is to take the pragmatist ethos seriously and apply it, to show the value and fecundity of pragmatism across academic and non-academic concerns." in: Contemporary Pragmatism, Vol. 1, No. 2 (December 2004)
