The Forth Edition, to which has been added one hundred and thirty new recipes. First published in London in 1817, Originally issued as "Apicius Redivivus" however this pre-title was dropped after the second edition of 1818. Small 8vo, xviii + pp545. Contemporary rebind of half black half leather over grey boards with 5 raised bands and gilt titles to spine. Binding in good condition with rubbing to edges, tips and top and tail of spine with some rubbing and marking to boards. Inside some spots of foxing throughout and water stain to bottom of front paste down, front free end papers and title page otherwise text clean and bright. A nice early copy of the book that supposedly inspired Mrs Beeton. Seller Inventory # 001162
