Albumen print taken by Timothy O'Sullivan during the Expedition of 1873--Lieut. Geo. M. Wheeler, Corps of Engineers. "Cooley's Park, Sierra Blanca Range, Arizona". Albumen print, 8x10 3/4 inches (20.3x27.3 cm.), on the original Wheeler survey two-toned mount with O'Sullivan's printed credit, title, plate number (No. 5) and the Expedition of 1873 credit on mount recto. Mount and photo in very good condition. Timothy O'Sullivan (1840-1882) began his photographic career working under Mathew Brady and worked as a staff photographer for the North during the American Civil War. After the war he traveled west working first for Clarence King and later with George M. Wheeler. O'Sullivan shot many iconic views of the American west including this well composed view of Cooley's Park in the Sierra Blanca Range of Arizona. Seller Inventory # 6
