Copperplate etching/engraving of the siege of Sluis, in the Dutch province of Zeeland, as it happend in 1587. With explanatory caption surrounding the print. ca. 1616. Overall size: 170 x 230 mm; plate size: 135 x 161 mm. Good state. Age related discolouration. Handlaid paper. Printed text on the verso of the print. This print originates from 'Guillaume Baudart, Les guerres de Nassau (.), Amsterdam, Michiel Colijn, 1616. With pictures and descriptions of battles and sieges which occurred during the war against the King of Spain. Some of the images are made after plates by Frans Hogenberg (1538-1590).
