Coreldraw 7 Secrets

Whether you use CorelDRAW in the office or in the design studio, you know that this popular drawing program has more capabilities than you typically use and that there's probably a better way to use the features that you do take advantage of.

Now, just as the latest release of CorelDRAW (CorelDRAW 7) comes on the scene, there's CorelDRAW 7 SECRETS, the authoritative guide to getting the most out of your drawing program. With author and graphics professional William Harrel to guide you, you'll master new, time-saving techniques and discover how to create all those special effects you've admired in the work of others. A special 32-page, full-color insert makes all the tips that much more accessible.

Plus, CorelDRAW 7 SECRETS includes a bonus CD-ROM containing everything from templates, color palettes, and scripts to spectacular samples and art-enhancing shareware utilities.

Unlike other books on CorelDRAW, CorelDRAW 7 Secrets covers all of the applications within this graphics suite: Besides CorelDRAW, the illustration package, there's also Corel Photo-Paint, CorelDREAM 3D, and many utilities. The authors assume that you're already familiar with the suite and want tips on using the package's tools to create sophisticated artwork. First, the authors explain the CorelDRAW interface and how to customize it, and then they discuss how to use the drawing tools; manage objects and layers; work with text, colors, and fills; create special effects; and output your work to slide recorder, printer, film, and offset press. Next you learn about the other applications in coverage that's so extensive it includes using templates and clip art. There's a great deal of help on using Photo-Paint's basic and advanced tools, including those for color correction and masking, and there's guidance on preparing your work in CorelDRAW for the Web.

Throughout the book you get design advice, detailed discussions of features, and step-by-step instructions on using those features. Two full-color inserts illustrate color-management issues and show you how various artists produced different projects. The CD-ROM includes practice files, utilities, sample images and scripts, and demo versions of plug-ins for CorelDRAW and Corel Photo-Paint.
