A truly amazing piece, has a hand written date of 1742 but was published in 1740. In a leather bound cover with leather hand made / hand bound antique spinal repair, which underneath has the original spine with original paper label still amazingly fully intact, page block has come from the repair, signed by an 11 year old George Dixon (1731-1785) an important figure in the history of 18th Century Darlington & the brother of Jeremiah Dixon of the Mason Dixon Line (I have included an image of an 18th century self portrait) , has many examples of “graffiti” from the 1700s in the book such as coin rubbings and portrait sketches, an amazing piece of history in very good condition for its age, if you have any questions please let me know, thank you.
