Correcting Bad Habits in Dogs contains expert advice on how to handle six of the most common problem behaviors—pulling, not coming when called, jumping up, barking, stealing, and house soiling—by offering reasons for these misbehaviors and the appropriate training methods to modify them. Written by a respected animal behaviorist and best-selling author, this practical guide presents positive training methods that emphasize the use of encouragements and rewards (rather than punishments) to help build a relationship of trust and understanding between dog and owner for maximum training results. The instructive, full-color photos simplify the concepts of correcting problem behaviors by presenting them in an accessible step-by-step format. An eight-page removable fold-out chart with star and ribbon award stickers helps mark training progress and set goals with an easy-to-follow master plan. The hardcover hidden spiral design makes this an ideal reference for the everyday dog owner and family to use while training their canine companion.
