Countdown to School

Greg Paprocki’s Countdown to School is the perfect board book to read with your little one who is either getting ready to begin preschool or who has an older sibling or friend heading to school in the fall.

It's nine days until school starts, and what do we do? We go shopping for school clothes, of course! Three days before school starts, we talk about our feelings because it is okay to be a bit nervous. And two days before school starts, we organize our school supplies and pack them into our backpack. We are ready to go!

Toddlers learn to count down from 10 to 1 as they mark the days until school begins, and they can practice counting by finding objects hidden throughout these fun back-to-school scenes in Paprocki’s classically retro mid-century art style. From finding green library books and blue water bottles to exploring the playground and visiting the classroom, there’s fun to be had on every page. Discover new details in each illustration with every successive reading of the book.
