This candid, warm-hearted memoir ranges from Dr. Robert B. Chambliss's achievements in high school basketball in Kentucky, a state known for its devotion to the sport, to his adventures with patients in the Appalachia foothills--during a time known for its massive medical changes, including the initiation of Medicare, Medicaid, and eventually, electronic medical records, and the Affordable Care Act. Country Doctor 54 Years: With Humor, Humility, and Common Sense is also a tribute to the parents who raised him and a love letter to the woman he married. Above all, it's a testimony to the values that Chambliss has worked hard to pass on to the next generations--primarily, love of God and family. As honest as it is hilarious, Country Doctor is the cure for the aches and pains of daily life.
