Life has never been easy for Cottonmouth Tomlin. Raised by an uncle in a hardscrabble Arkansas town, Cottonmouth couldn’t leave fast enough. But when Cottonmouth gets embroiled in some ill-conceived ransom plans with a few of those visiting scofflaws, he pushes the boundaries of the community’s forgiving nature.

Steve Weddle is an American author, best known for his book Country Hardball, which the New York Times called “downright dazzling.” He is the cofounder of the crime fiction collection Do Some Damage, he is the cocreator of the noir magazine Needle, and he was an instructor at LitReactor.

Weddle grew up in Louisiana. He received his undergraduate degree from Centenary College of Louisiana, his master of arts from Pittsburg State University, and his master of fine arts in poetry from Louisiana State University.

He lives in Virginia with his family.
