First American edition. viii, 223 pp. Bound in publisher's brown ribbed cloth with gilt spine lettering. A Good copy, boards have a few small stains, wear and chipping to cloth along edges, lettering mostly rubbed off, dampstain to endpapers, small bookplate ghost to paste down. A classic illustrated series of Christmas lectures on the composition of flames for children and lay folks.
